Words
Erik's language skills went up a notch in the last two weeks.
He looked at me yesterday as I emerged from the shower and said, "I took a shower, too!" Brian had indeed given him a shower before mine. He is trying to use pronouns more, although he mixes "he" and "she" up a little bit, and is fond of saying, "Shall we go outside?" I went in to get him up this morning, and he had his blanket over his head. He groaned, stretched, and mumbled, "Morning." He sounded like he was 47 years old, not 3. He tells me I look like his day care provider when I have my glasses on by saying, "Looks like Rochelle!" He loves words as much as I do, and we say the ones that sound funny over and over, laughing like loons. We even make up our own words. Erik's favorite thing to do, though, is to add a little whistle/hiss sound onto words he adds an "S" to. We just run through a gigantic list of words, including dog, mommy, daddy, and Gracie, and make them pleural, pronouncing them as if we don't have front teeth. We giggle after each and every one. His favorite commercial on the radio is for Quality Heating and Cooling. He freezes in his tracks when it comes on, and he tries to say, "Quality Heating! Your comfort specialist!" Then he repeats the word "specialist" over and over, smiling like a crazy man.
That's my boy.

Adorable! Try the word Pupil with him. It is hilarious if you drag it out. I don't know, maybe it's just us? We had a fit one day with it. It is just one of those words. Caleb thought streudle was a funny word too.
Sounds like his speech is really coming along. Noah groans when he gets up and sounds like an old man. I think he has heard me do it.
That is too funny, ABi's two favorite commercials are Trix and these shoes called "lelly kelly" she asks everytime we go shopping if we can get them and then sings the catch tune that goes with the commercial.
Enjoy it sounds like you guys have alot of fun. I'm sure Erik and Abi could talk about nothing for hours on end!!:)

Its amazing how quickly the language builds up - you look back a year later and cant believe that in just 12 months they have gone from Non Verbal to chatterbox!
There are alot of funny words when you think about them for a minute..
xxoo
I sooooooooo miss Erik! Like it is ever quite here... but when there was a silent moment, Erik would zone in on that moment, flex his arms and say with a BIG smile look at my muscles!!! He is so adorable and how he soooooo knows it!!! :)
BIG Hugs,
Dee-ta
Funny! We do the same things.

We were a hit at pool therapy the day "Ashtabula" was our word of the day. I try to fill the therapist in on what we're talking about that day, so she can figure out what Erik says. I told her the word of the day, she repeated it and laughed, and a little old lady in a walker behind her giggled and said, "Ashtabula!" I said, "See-- it's the word of the day. EVERYONE is saying it! We all giggled. It's the old get lemons make lemonade thing. Erik brightens the day for a lot of people, and makes an imprint on their lives-- and their hearts.
Love, Mom
I'm so proud of Erik! I swear he makes me die out laughing :)
