To Erik

You are small but powerful.
A superhero in concentrate form,
A pajama-clad streak traversing the room at light speed --
A shooting star of my very own.

This is beautiful.

Every year on the kids birthday (and occasionally other times, like I did this Valentines Day) I write the kids a letter and they're kept in the safe after they read them. They must have close to 20 or so, so far.

I know you'll keep this for Erik

What a perfect description of a williams child - a shooting star! Vibrant and wonderous!

I stumbled across your site after searching for williams syndrome on youtube - would you believe that despite williams folks' uncanny ability to be the complete hams (not just for the camera I might add), that you were one of the only hits?

My little brother has williams syndrome (he's 26 now, but with the innocence and heart of someone truly unaged).

I don't remember all that much of the years before he started school (I'm only 2 years old than him myself) - but I can tell you that no matter what limitations you may worry about for your son - he will amaze you. Utterly, profoundly, and increasingly.

I LOOOOOVE IT! SUPERHERO... SHOOTING STAR... TOO PRECIOUS NANCE! OKAY... THAT BOOK OF YOURS IS STILL IN THE WORKS, AND I WILL JUST KEEP COLLECTING NANCY'S RECIPES AND MAKE MY OWN CHEESY NANCE'S COOKBOOK BUT..... PERHAPS YOU COULD PUBLISH A WONDERFUL BOOK OF POETRY??? :)

BESIDES ERIK'S AUNTIE BUYING HIM COWBOY BOOTS OR AT LEAST SOME WRANGLERS FOR HIS NEXT RIDE, I AM THINKING HE NEEDS A CAPE OF SOME SORT, ALL SUPERHEROS HAVE A SUPER SUIT!

SIDE NOTE...
WHAT POWERFUL AND ENCOURAGING WORDS FROM "MEL", IT WARMED MY HEART!

Everyone is so right this is so beautiful. I believe that children can be anything and accomplish things that surprise people because of a mother's love.
