The Secret Song

This is a beautiful article about Jeremy Vest. I think a lot of us can see our children in Jeremy, which is why I find him so incredibly fascinating.

Enjoy.

Thanks for sharing, Nancy! UGH, that sh** always makes me cry. I love "How's your News" and I think you are right, it is easy to see our children in Jeremy. I think he is so funny and adorably quirky.

I'm happy that Erik's appointment went well yesterday. I was thinking about you guys.

as I read that, I felt tears welling up. I met Jeremy one time. He told me he liked doing interviews... I had no idea!!! He reminded me soooo much of Caleb then. The way he turns his head, the way he purses his lips and puts his hands on his hips, and the way he asked EVERY girl for a hug. His endless enthusiasm for everything!
Anyway, the tears didn't come. Instead it was a huge, drawn out sigh from deep, deep down.
That description of him when he was young... so familiar. The confusion, the amazement, the love. I was so there. See we didn't know either until later in Caleb's life.
Caleb was always listening too, always taking everything in. It always seemed like he was on a different plane of conciousness. It seemed like he felt that he had to see, hear, and touch all that the world had to offer before some invisible timer went off and it was too late.
The kid is a sponge,a shining light, a terror, a wonder, and a miracle.
The article was so well put. Other people actually get how amazing this ride is.
I've never been to one, but I have been told that if you've ever been to a Grateful Dead show, you all get the share the same experience. It must be something like that. We really are all in this together.
Whew! Thank God!
sorry, tangent... that really struck a chord with me though :) thanks.

Thanks so much for sharing! (I've already forwarded the link to many friends and family.) I've often thought Nick has music in his mind that I just can't hear. I can only pray that is how people will see Nick (2.5 yrs, WS of course)
