Well, Isn't That Special?

Can somebody tell me why I attend parent group again? I think I need my head examined.

It is quite obvious to me at this point that our group moderator thinks Erik is on the severe side of the Williams coin. If I reported what was said today during parent group, there would undoubtedly be an angry mob of parents and the people who care about me on her front lawn waving torches. What's funny is that her comments seem to bother the people who love me more than they do me. Yes, she bothers me on some level, but I think I have her figured out. She is only telling me what she sees, and I can't fault her for that, although tact and compassion are obviously not two of her strongest qualities. I am truly interested in seeing how other people view my son. There are some people who would never guess there is something different about Erik and others who tell me they knew at first glance.

This woman has a double Master's degree and I'm nothing but a college dropout, but at this point in life it is painfully obvious to me that having more paperwork on your office wall doesn't make you any more intelligent or better with people. Methinks my skin is thickening.

No, I'm not going to do the Church Lady dance. I'd be lying if I said I didn't think about it, though.

I have the torches - anyone with a match?? Yes, we may be a bit protective of our friends :)

There are people out there who also THINK they know more when actually they are not as smart as they really are. She probably went home after meeting you, read online about William's, and now picks every symptom and applies them to Erik. We may see WS in kids (because we live with it), but most people can't - even our geneticist said that.

Anywhoozer, I think I'd pay $5 to watch a YouTube of you doing the Church Lady dance - any other takers??? :)
love you-

I can definitely provide the matches. I can't believe how serious my dislike is for someone I have never met. Yikes!!

Nancy, thankfully she does NOT know everything even though it sounds like she acts like it. Next time you see her tell her where to stick it!! (WHoa, that was violent for me. :)

Love Ya!

I'm thinking that you impact the parents' group more than the reverse.. but I also am thinking that it's a good exercise for you in dealing with stupid people (including those with double Master's degrees). We all need to learn to deal with thoughtless people... no, make that, we need to learn to deal with our reactions to thoughtless actions. The people for the most part are hopeless. But maybe, just maybe, you plant a seed.....
Meanwhile, I'll match the Paslay's $20. Isn't that special?

Love, Mom

After a couple cups of coffee, my second thought is that I'll match both the Paslays and Kerry. I'll write a check to the WS Valentine Fund Campaign if my daughter doesn't appear on YouTube doing the Church Lady dance. The check is in the mail.

Love, Mom
